Tamarak is our beautiful campsite, set in the middle of Barlow Common nature reserve yet only 10 minutes from the town centre; it's perfect for groups close to home or further away.
Tamarak is a versatile site perfect for Scout Groups and other youth organisations. Our site which is maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers caters for a wide range of young people and activities. For leaders from Girl Guiding UK, we're pleased to say we have host advisor approval for Brownies.

- Utility cabin: A small indoor space with benches, tables, and mains electricity.

Getting Here
By road
A majority of people arrive at Tamarak by road. Most users, especially those dropping off or collecting young people should use the Barlow Common car park, off Barlow Road. Sat nav users should use the postcode YO8 8EZ which is the closest match. The site is a short 5 minute walk along the public footpath.
There is vehicle access to the site itself, but it must only be used by vehicles that need access to the site, such as vehicles carrying equipment, or individuals with access needs. Where possible vehicles should be moved to the main car park when no longer required on site. The access is from Barlow Common Road, you will require a pass code to access, and you must ensure gates are shut behind you as it is a shared access road.
By bus
Small expedition groups often arrive by service bus. The Arriva 401 service runs between Selby and Goole runs almost every hour from 6am to 6pm. These services may change without notice, so please check on Arriva's website before planning your travel.
By rail
Selby is the closest train station to Tamarak, and is ideally situated for visitors from the East and West via the Transpennine routes, and from the South on the London to Hull route. Visitors from the North can access Selby by changing at York. Selby train station is right next to the bus station.
